This is a blog about myself, an American female Mormon (otherwise known as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or LDS), at Oxford.  I am not the first Mormon at Oxford, and most certainly will not be the last.  I moved here from Washington, DC to study History-constitutional legal history, that is.

The opinions expressed in this blog are my own, and do not reflect that of my Church or (obviously) of Americans in general.  I simply want to make and share the record of my time here with those that I love and those who are curious--about being Mormon, about being a female Mormon, about being an American living in the UK and at Oxford, and of all of those combinations in one.

I have been charmed, intrigued, and frustrated by the challenges to my perception of what being "English" is, how my faith interacts with new intellectual ground, and how my Americanisms are perceived and responded to.  I intend to share all of this--that which will be fit to publish--here.
