Day 136: Freud's Church

So what do you do with a neo-gothic, abandoned church in Oxford if you are Freud's grandson?

Turn it into a very chic restaurant, clearly.

I went to dinner at FREVD's (I believe this spelling is a twist on the Greek alphabet) for a friend's birthday party the other night. The atmosphere was unbeatable. I wasn't sure whether to pray, clean the old dusty walls and bare-minimum ceiling, or eat.

It is sparsely populated with furniture and tables, a bar in one corner, and, up on the dias in the nave of the Church (I think I've got the architecture right), a large table where my dinner party ate.

Too bad the chef had quit the night before and the food was slow and a bit lousy - that place has amazing potential.
