An American Religion

Original Copy of The Book of Mormon
There is nothing like being in Colonial Williamsburg at the College of William & Mary's special collections, a quintessentially American archive, and being told (without them knowing its particular significance to me) that they have an original copy of the Book of Mormon.

Besides it being nearly 200 years old, the significant distinction from copies today is the frontal matter, which I have pictured here.  Notice any differences?

sorry it's blurry - only had my camera phone

Quite lovely in Williamsburg yesterday and today.

Just your regular, run-of-the-mill archival call slip for a very non-regular book.
